Desi Masti hosted a Michael Jackson vigil tonight (now yesterday, it’s past midnight)!! and what a wicked event.
We gathered at at 10pm on Thursday to light a candle for Michael Jackson just outside the curve to remember 1 week after the passing of the KING OF POP. Around 250 people turned up and it made a big statement that we will remember the magic, the music and the Man regardless of people taking our material efforts to remember him.
The candles were very, very, VERY, difficult to light and we gave up in the end favoring to hold them instead so we could guard them from the wind with our hands.
The evening broke out into song and dance from a few people including yours truly (which is even captured on video below for you to see).
We sang Man In The Mirror i’m afraid I was a bit too close to the microphone on my iPhone so sorry if I spoiled your audio pleasure. We moved on to sing I’ll be there a little bit and whilst I spin the camera, I spoke to a young girl who wanted to be filmed, her favourite song is Billie Jean and she showed me her Moonwalk! – (Everyone should learn that)!

Taking some of the limelight, my Mum and I start the next video singing The Way You Make Me Feel and when Billie Jean comes on, Anand (the producer of the Michael Jackson 51 show) breaks into dance and he’s not a bad dancer actually! Even managing to pull off his own Moonwalk in trainers and on the pavement! It’s great that everyone’s singing, excited and remembering the true KING OF POP!! 
Anand then started the shouting which features at the end of the bad video, the crowd new what to do but in the end it turned into a bunch of whooooOOoooos! AaaooOOoow’s Hee-Hee’s.. (Great Stuff)!
Screaming at the top of our voices spelling the name of the KING OF POP and and the end shouting his name just before we start “Beat It”. I just can’t resisit, I pass the camera to Mum and ask her to keep shooting whilst I join the Producer and dance in public to Beat It The fans go wild (ha ha… i wish) but I did get a cheer and applause at the end. I’m a bit rusty but all in the sprit of celebration. – Ha ha.. wicked stuff.
Thankfully, before I make too much of a fool of myself, we sing Black or White and the video ends there.
Toward the latter part of the vigil, performers from the Michael Jackson 51 show which is on at The Curve in August take to the streets and perform Michael Jackson’s Thriller and 2 Bad dance routunes in full costume.

The current record is 242 people dancing the Zombie Routine and it’s held by the College of William & Mary students in Williamsburg, eastern Virginia in America
